USING ARM THEORY FOR PRACTICAL LEARNING

Abstract

Using the theory of ARM (Active Learning, Reflection and Modelling) in teaching and learning in the classroom provides students’ with concrete understanding and practical application of mathematics. Active learning involves the students in the learning experiences; reflection is at the heart of learning for students and teacher; and modelling demonstrates how the learning objectives are met. ARM was developed between Malaysia and the UK, and has been used in Malaysia and Ghana in school and university with success and continues to impact on education.
